10 Factors to Practice Success
1.) Clear Foundational Philosophy
Vision vs. Contradiction: Contradiction in your vision leads to destruction based on the premise that vision and reality are apart, and that identifying the contradiction and resolving them will drive the practice forward. Eg. I want new patients but I am not willing to market, I have expectation without training, and I use a symptom based pain model rather than focusing on creating a sound functioning nervous system.
2.) Strong Sense of Purpose
Driving Force: What is your purpose in life? Choose your purpose for your life. If you are living for survival, then you are living in mediocrity. You are not purpose driven; purpose drives the vision based on a code of values that gives direction to what you do. Things must be done that will align with your purpose or you will be in contradiction of your like while not living to your fullest expectation. Survive vs. Thrive: Living out of abundance and not hunkering down will help to develop a thrive mentality. Everything around you should be based on abundance and the ability to achieve this is based on you and your willingness to do whatever it takes to thrive, not just survive. B.J. Palmer said that you can make a living or a life; it is all based on what you are willing to achieve.
Your Compass: The directions and decisions that you make based on what your purpose is and where you want to take it.
3.) Consistantly Positive Attitude
You can’t score on defense. There is no future in being pessimistic in your life and seeing everything in a negative way. Your mindset is a skill that can be developed and trained to be on purpose. Positive Growth physiology vs. defense growth. Morning rituals and affirmations define you and what you are thinking. They become your routine and your habits. I no longer want, I no longer need, I have everything. Remember to deliver to the people that pay you.
4.) Insatiable Passion for What You Do
Passion is the fuel that drives the engine of purpose. How do you get it back if you lose it? The power of full engagement in whatever you do, 110% effort and renewal until you reach the goals that have been set out to achieve. Spending time is less efficient than spending time and energy on a goal. Spending time finding ways or inventing things to do of less priority take more energy than actually doing the task at hand. Time is different than high energy in the same amount of time if it is physical, mental or spiritual.
5.) High Level of Certainty
How do you explain the subluxation complex? What is your table talk like? During the adjustment, are you talking, laughing or chatting? How much emphasis metaphysically are you placing on the adjustment and mentally what are you visualizing? Are you selling a product that you are not sure of delivering? E.g. short term care symptom care. Does the patient tell you when they are coming back?
6.) Fanatical About Efficient, Effective Procedures for Doctor and Staff
Procedure must be adhered to and the staff and Doctor should continuously train to perfect the various aspects of procedures. The procedure must not be in contradiction of the purpose, and wealth can not be created without efficient and effective procedures. Provide and upscale service for your patients that provides exceptional perceived value. They will remember that little extra.
7.) Hiring a Top Notch Team
You can’t get it done by yourself. Team work, training, and delegation are the major areas to building a practice framework. TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK.
8.) A Well Thought Out Economic Practice Model
YOU ARE THE BUSINESS DOCTOR! No patients, no business. No business, no patients. Many busy chiropractors fail in practice. Famous last words, “I am not in this for the money.” You have to know business principles and fundamentals of overhead, profits and business management to succeed in any business. You have to love the business as much as you love your patients. The more you serve the more you prosper to help to help others to do the same.
9.) The Mastery of Finance ad Money Management
Maintain a lifestyle within your means but by no means pull in on your practice marketing or staffing. Work harder and smarter, and decrease overhead by budgeting on personal luxuries and expenses. You make the most of money when you don’t need it.
10.) Have a Crystal Clear Vision You See Every Day
Vision is the mental image for what you want. Crystal clear clarity of the objective is job number 1 for the success in life or business to the degree of which you are foggy, or the degree of which you will fail. Know why you know what you do.
