Starting Fresh by Gunther Allen, CPT

Sometimes finding your way back to success or starting fresh can be as simple as finding a new POV, (point of view). A photography term, but I feel it applies here. When taking a photo of something that everyone has taken photos of, like the Statue of Liberty for instance, you try to approach the subject with fresh eyes and a new perspective. You might try taking the photo at a different angle, or wait until a foggy day to get a complete different look at the situation. The same thing applies for those of you stuck in a daily rut with your practice. You may need to find a new POV in your practice to start fresh.

Perhaps since becoming a chiropractor and starting a practice you began feeling pressure to become successful in order to pay the bills. Most of us end up in a business or a job for that same reason. In the quest to becoming successful enough to pay those bills you usually find yourself purchasing a home, buying a new car, getting married, having kids, and creating more pressures in your life. Have you every wondered why that is? Pressure makes us go forward in life; and without it you start to become stagnate. If your practice is one that you are too comfortable with, you will find that you will get bored, dissatisfied, and begin seeing yourself in an unhappy situation.

What is the answer to getting yourself back on track to being happy, satisfied and joyful about going to work? It could be as simple as a readjustment of your POV. This can be as easy as setting new goals. Maybe turning your 200 patient a week practice into a 500 patient a week practice would motivate you. Maybe you need a kick start or a little help from a consultant who can help you to find the things that frustrate you about your practice and can guide you to a more rewarding and profitable practice.

I’ve seen first hand how a consultant like Dr. Gay can help people with their practices. From those just starting their practices to those who have had their practice’s for years and now would like to grow into a volume practice. Doing this on their own can be a daunting task especially for those who lack the knowledge of how to accomplish such an undertaking. A consultant can be the key to alleviating much of the time and hassles it takes to move forward. For those who have fallen into complacency and become too comfortable with “just getting by”, a coach or consultant is the one person who can assist someone in creating a transition to a more rewarding practice and life.

With 2008 just around the corner and everyone thinking about “New Year’s Resolutions,” why not put the wheels into motion and mark down on your calendar to give a call to Dr. Gay. Mention this article and receive a complimentary half hour consultation with him to see what types of ways he may be able to help you. He will definitely be able to direct you in the right direction to begin your transformation and fresh start!
